“Wedding Train Purse”

$6,000.00

This piece is from my Wedding Train series.  Prior to designing and making jewelry I have been known for my beading skills for the past 20 odd years.  The original design idea came to me when I could not sleep one night.  That first piece was purchased by Moya Lear for her granddaughter.

The original idea was that a bride would carry this piece down the aisle with her bouquet in it.  After the ceremony it would be used to receive monetary gifts for the wedding couple.  The purse is then suitable for framing for a lasting expression of a lasting love.

The white purse pictured is made of jacquard raw silk.  It is lined in polyester for its wearability.  The beading is natural dyed copper colored pearls.  A copper “leaf” was used to provide a focal point and to provide drama.  The  “flowers” are carved mother of pearl.  Other white and copper pearls enhance the design.

This piece takes a minimum of 4 months to execute after the bride provides her color(s) and a theme.  The purse is lined in polyester down to 9″.  The full length of the purse is about 42″ long.  The outside fabric can be done in any color.  Silk, wool, linen, rayon or polyester are all possible fabrics subject to the brides desire and color match.  Should the bride wish to use her own fabric (perhaps from her mothers or grandmothers wedding dress) a minimum of 2 yards is required.  All other materials will be provided by Jill Atkins Design.  A custom sterling purse frame by Jill Atkins Design is an additional cost.  A matching beaded card case is included.  All bead work is guaranteed until I am too weak to hold a needle!

I strive to make this an enjoyable and exciting process for everyone involved.
